Changelog

What shipped in each asambl release, newest first. The current build is v1.5.1.

asambl updates itself. This page lists what changed in each build so you can see what is new since the version you are running; the full detail for any feature is on its own page. Activation keys carry across updates. Download the latest build from asambl.app/download at any time.

The current build is v1.5.1 for macOS and Windows.

v1.5.1 (2 October 2026)

Your check-in answers now shape the draft.

  • Your energy and how booked the week is now shape the draft. A Flat or Low start makes Health, Growth and Career lighter, and a week you call tight asks every area for fewer, shorter blocks.
  • Old answers no longer count. An answer more than three days old is ignored, so last week's check-in never lightens a new plan.
  • The energy bar applies to its own week. A plan for any other week starts from full capacity instead of that week's recovery days.
  • Career's lines in your life picture say career. They read "Where your career is heading", "Hours a week genuinely free for your career" and "The season your career is in".

v1.5.0 (1 October 2026)

Career plans the career your job crowds out, and Mind is now Growth.

  • Work is now Career, and Mind is now Growth. Plans committed before keep their old headings and still count as these areas.
  • Career plans the career your job crowds out. Its weekly draft is one to three small moves on a side project, a credential, a pivot or your network, outside your work hours and sized to the weekly capacity on your Career profile.
  • Your job is a wall the week is planned around. A priority about your current job no longer gets blocks of its own; it makes the Career plan smaller instead.
  • Career stays quiet until there is something to plan. With nothing career-shaped on file, it reserves no time and says so.
  • Career blocks have their own colour on the calendar. They keep the area's blue; your job's meetings show as Work, now grey, and so do blocks the old Work planner made.
  • Side projects and job searches are Career priorities. So are pivots, side businesses, portfolio work, certifications and networking, while a priority about your job's boundary, such as leaving on time or no email after a set hour, goes to Health.
  • Nothing needs the asambl account. Settings > Account no longer offers sign-in (if you signed in before, it shows the account and Sign out), and the iPhone app pairs with the one-time code alone, as a phone browser does.
  • Fixes. Manage habits names its areas Health and Money, as the rest of the app does.

v1.4.2 (30 September 2026)

Disconnecting Google now revokes it, and pairing leaves your Google account out.

  • Disconnecting Google Calendar revokes it. Turning Google off now revokes and deletes the sign-in token asambl's proxy kept for the sync; one nobody uses is deleted after 12 months.
  • Pairing without Google. A computer with Google Calendar connected starts a fresh pairing instead of sending its Google sign-in to the relay.
  • Phones paired by typed code. Settings > Integrations marks a phone whose key no scan checked, including every pairing made before 1.4.0, with Pair again by scanning.

v1.4.1 (30 September 2026)

Rebuilding search keeps your data, and the app picks up three security fixes.

  • Rebuild search keeps your data. Settings > Data > Rebuild search from scratch now rebuilds only the search index; it no longer clears conversations, reflections, reminders, logs or calendar events.
  • Security. Three fixes in the engine the app runs on.

v1.4.0 (28 September 2026)

Pair your phone by scanning, and asambl asks before your words leave the device.

  • Pair your phone by scanning a code. Settings > Integrations > Pair your phone shows a QR code; scan it from the companion, or type a code as before.
  • Web search and the weather ask first. asambl shows the exact text it would send and waits for your yes; Plan your week drafts without web search.
  • A planner's memory waits for your approval. Changes to your profile, commitments, theories, questions or notes arrive as proposals on the area's Overview.
  • Private notes stay private everywhere. Ask, the planners, area context and Connect an agent all refuse a note marked private.
  • Your computer keeps your phone's key. If the phone's key changes without a new pairing, sending stops and Settings asks you to pair again.
  • Crash reports carry less. No note names, paths, places or Settings text.
  • Security. The app no longer runs code passed on the command line, checks its own files at start, and never renders raw HTML from notes.

v1.3.0 (27 September 2026)

asambl in Claude desktop, and search that keeps up with your folders.

  • Add asambl to Claude desktop in one click. Settings > Integrations > Connect an agent; what Claude reads goes to Anthropic, and you add it again after an asambl update. Details.
  • Search follows the renamed folders. The index catches up on the next launch.
  • Related notes find notes on the same topic, and each area keeps to its own notes.
  • Connect an agent searches your files as they are now, including notes written or made private since the last index.
  • Fixes. Forty more section titles in sentence case; the Connect an agent card says where what it reads goes.

v1.2.0 (25 September 2026)

One name for each thing, and pages that open on the week you are in.

  • The life areas have short names: Health, Money, Relationships (Partner and Social), Joy, Mind and Work, in that order everywhere. Old plans keep their headings and the old Ask mentions still work. Life areas.
  • Life picture is the one name for what asambl knows about you.
  • Week opens on this week's plan, and Quarter on the quarter's plan, with earlier ones below. Plans.
  • Area pages lead with the area's week, with one question box and one Log menu.
  • Settings is ten sections in groups; search status and usage moved to Data. Settings.
  • Dates follow your computer: plans are titled "Week of 21 Sept", week codes are gone, and ISO is the one alternative.
  • Capture files to any area, Work included; "Log instead" opens a detailed entry.
  • Inbox: Archive and Done. Dismiss became Archive, Done is the main action, Delete is in the item's menu.
  • Voice input is off on a new install until you turn it on in Settings > Privacy.
  • Quieter screens. Sentence case everywhere, one icon set, four help icons where there were 89.
  • Fixes. Committing a quarter adds its goals again; a task sent from the phone keeps its title and note; long reminders from the phone keep all their text; area pages no longer take focus, so the shortcuts work there.

v1.1.0 (23 September 2026)

Your life picture, and a planner that fits around your day.

  • The sidebar reads Today, Week, Quarter, Inbox. Today is the home page; every old link still lands.
  • Your life picture is a page you can edit: four notes holding the facts every planner reads, each with a date and a source.
  • asambl proposes updates to that picture and never writes them itself. Proposals wait on the Life picture page; off in Settings > Nudges.
  • The morning touch, off until you turn it on. One read of today's items against your energy, each a keep-or-defer call you accept. Settings > Nudges.
  • What leaves this device. Settings > Privacy lists every request of the last seven days, by destination, with the switch that stops it.
  • Connect an agent. One command in Settings > Integrations lets an MCP client read your notes, plans and life picture; its only write is a note into your inbox.
  • One switch per data source, each saying what that source receives.
  • Planners know your public holidays; Germany and Spain join the list, and weather carries sunrise and sunset.
  • Meal estimates use FoodData Central when food lookup is on; only the ingredient name goes out.
  • The last codenames leave your folders, and backups include your own notes under 10_System.

v1.0.9 (18 September 2026)

Web search asks first.

  • On a new install, web search is off until you turn it on. Ask offers to turn it on when a planner needs it, and remembers a no. Existing installs are unchanged.
  • The first Home after setup no longer says "Not much on file yet".
  • The activation wall shows one main button at a time.
  • The in-app privacy text says what web search sends: the search text with your home city, never your files.

v1.0.8 (13 September 2026)

Ask knows what's on.

  • Web search is on by default. What it sends, and the three services it reaches, are in the privacy policy; turn it off in Settings.
  • Ask "what's on next weekend" and it answers from your city and your library: gigs, screenings, readings, live recordings. Ask asambl.
  • Dated screenings from independent cinemas, starting with Watershed in Bristol.
  • Work & Career plans your work, with its own quick check in the weekly ritual.
  • Home keeps a half-planned week and offers one button back into the draft.
  • Fixes. Profile lists no longer double on save; the end-of-week reflection only asks about a planned week; Ask's chips stop offering to book tickets.

v1.0.7 (12 September 2026)

Setup you can walk away from.

  • Quit partway through setup and come back to where you were.
  • Skipped questions stay skipped.
  • Faint text is readable in all ten themes.
  • Feedback says it is anonymous and can carry a reply address.

v1.0.6 (8 September 2026)

The first week pays off.

  • Onboarding ends on the shape of your week: focus areas, work hours, energy peak.
  • The first plan shows up in the session that made it.
  • A quiet trial cadence: one subscribe prompt after the first planned week, and notices on days 17 and 20.
  • The plan says your declared energy back on the review line and the Home card.
  • Help > Send Feedback, plus an opt-in "also send to asambl" under Not quite right.
  • Fixes. Events deleted in Google Calendar stay deleted; a hand-entered trial key keeps its expiry; factory reset clears only this machine's activation.

v1.0.5 (4 September 2026)

The front door repaired.

  • A visible focus ring on every button, in every theme.
  • Activation errors name the fault and say where to get help.
  • Onboarding is complete when setup finishes, so quitting on the last screen no longer strands an empty Overview.
  • The trial-expired screen names support@asambl.app.
  • Committing a plan offers a Sunday-evening reminder to plan next week, opt-in.
  • Windows installers are signed.

v1.0.4 (1 September 2026)

Subscription self-service arrives in Settings, and the app stops talking about the beta.

  • Manage your subscription from Settings: change plan, update payment details or cancel, in Stripe's portal. Cancelling keeps access to the end of the billing period.
  • A beta-free voice. The account panel names what you have: a subscription, a trial or a beta key.

v1.0.3 (31 August 2026)

The Settings account panel speaks the credential's language: subscription, trial or beta key.

v1.0.2 (31 August 2026)

Licence keys fit through the Settings door; the Replace-key field had truncated subscription keys.

v1.0.1 (31 August 2026)

The 21-day free trial arrives in the app, and Google Calendar opens to everyone.

  • Start your trial from the welcome screen, no key needed; keys still activate there.
  • When a trial ends, your data does not. A calm subscribe screen, with your data folder and a full backup one click away.
  • Google Calendar connects for everyone. The allow list is gone.

v1.0.0 (31 August 2026)

asambl leaves beta. Anyone can download it and try the whole product free for 21 days, no card, with one plan after. Beta keys keep working and stay free for as long as asambl exists.

Beta builds (July and August 2026)

The builds between v0.2.20 and v0.2.38 established the product that shipped as 1.0. One line each, newest first.

  • v0.2.38 (25 August). Pair your phone with a code instead of a Google sign-in, your calendar reaches the Companion, and an optional asambl account.
  • v0.2.37 (15 August). asambl asks only to see and edit events in Google Calendar, not to manage all of your calendars.
  • v0.2.36 (11 August). Windows installers are signed by Asambl Technologies Ltd.
  • v0.2.35 (29 July). Each keyboard shortcut opens one thing, Settings shows the real build number, and every dialog announces itself to screen readers.
  • v0.2.33 (22 July). Windows updates install again, and a single planner's events land on the calendar reliably.
  • v0.2.32 (19 July). Your beta key is encrypted at rest, setup keeps keyboard focus, and a failed plan lets you retry without losing your answers.
  • v0.2.30 (15 July). Your weekly plan surfaces the notes that relate to what is on your calendar that week.
  • v0.2.29 (14 July). Setup goes one question at a time and hands you a first plan; asambl notices one thing about each committed week; this week's actions on Home.
  • v0.2.28 (12 July). Themes and skins, routines, and tasks, journal and reminders on the Companion; spending breakdowns in Finance; travel planning in Joy.
  • v0.2.25 (10 July). One screen per life area, Your numbers in Finance, nutrition targets in Health, reminders on the calendar.
  • v0.2.20 (6 July). Work and Career joins the drafted week, meals and nutrition in Health, Companion logging, two-way Google Calendar sync, time by area.

Before v0.2.20 the beta built the core: the weekly ritual that turns a few answers into a sequenced week and real calendar events, the first five life areas as plain files on your machine, the desktop calendar, the Companion's agenda and capture, and Ask, capture, journal, tasks and reminders. See How planning works.

How updates reach you

asambl checks for new builds and installs them; you can also download the latest from asambl.app/download over your current version. Your files stay on your machine and your activation key carries across.
